A full on dance weekend
Wow! What a dance filled weekend! We started on Saturday with our annual show before the Elite Squad took on day 3 of the Cannon Dance Festival, Sunday in the Cornbow Hall, Halesowen.
The annual showcase was not without its issues. As a dance teacher we face many different challenges throughout the year. Children moving on, children not returning, injuries, sickness, Dance Moms ;) and many other things. However, running a show must be the number one stress we can face, it's even worse when you seem to have a curse on you when it comes to putting on a show. A week before we were due to take to the stage one of our leads pulled out, although we are lucky enough to have some incredible children in the school and one managed to jump in and perform to the best of her ability and to perfection. Over the past few months theres been a lot of issues with getting the show to piece together, scenes added in ... scenes taken out ... dances added in ... dances taken out. To say I'm unbelievably proud of the children to putting on an amazing show would be an understatement! I think them all from the bottom of my heart for being incredibly professional and pulling it together, working along side myself, Niamh and Alice, to create something incredibly special. Well Done everyone!
This was then followed by a Sunday competition for the Elite Squad, and one of our amazing stage school children taking on the audition round of Teen Star, and what can I say? We were very successful.
Our competition results: 1st, 3 x 2nd places, 3rd place - all dancers placed! Well done Elite Squad.
A massive well done to our Teen Star hopefully who made it through to the next round and will be fighting in the next round on 7th April 2018. We all wish you the best of luck, you can do it! Just believe in yourself.
Next week we introduce our next tumbling class with a £1 introductory offer. Invite your friends and family, there are a few spaces left and we want to fill them. We will then be launching our next look timetable in March 2018, so keep your eye out for our exciting classes coming soon.
See you next week,
